Cast Iron
Care & Tips
Cast iron is great
to cook with and only gets better with time. It distributes heat
evenly and heats fast on any stove top. Cast iron also adds a
significant amount of dietary iron to your food. Cast iron will
last a life time if properly seasoned and cared for.
| * |
Never
put cast iron in the dishwasher and never allow cast iron
to drain dry. |
| * |
Always
store cast iron uncovered in a dry place. |
| * |
When
seasoning or treating your cast iron always use vegetable
shortening. Never use salted fat such as butter or margarine. |
| * |
For
rust spots use steel wool on the rust spots and re-season. |
Keep these hints in mind when you
are caring for your cast iron and your cookware will last forever.
