Stuffed Sweet Peppers

Ingredients
4 medium green or red peppers*
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2/3 cup uncooked rice
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 large can of tomatoes, cut up and undrained
1 cup water
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 clove of minced garlic (optional)

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large frying pan, cook pork, beef, onion, and garlic until the meat is brown and the onions are tender. Add tomatoes, water, basil, oregano, rice, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to meat; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir in 3/4 cup of the cheese.

Place green peppers in a baking dish and fill the peppers with the meat and rice mixture. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on tops and serve hot.

* Wash and remove seeds and membranes from each pepper. Place the peppers in boiling water and boil for 3 minutes. Remove the peppers and drain on paper towels.
