A La King
Ingredients
1/4
cup button mushrooms, sliced
2 cups turkey, cooked and diced
1/2 frozen peas, thawed and drained
4 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
In
a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter; add mushrooms
and saute until limp, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove mushrooms
with slotted spoon; set aside.
In
the same pan, melt remaining butter over medium heat. Blend
in flour; cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until
bubbly. Add milk and cook, whisking constantly, until thickened
and smooth.
Add
turkey, peas and cooked mushrooms; cook about 5 more minutes.
Stir in sour cream and cook just until heated through; be
careful not to boil. Stir in salt and pepper. Serve over
toast or baked potatoes.
