Irish Tea
Scones
Ingredients
2 cups sifted flour
2 tablespoon sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, at room temperature
1 egg, at room temperature
3/4 cup milk, at room temperature
1/2 cup raisins
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder,
and salt; blend in butter with a pastry blender. Add egg and milk.
Mix quickly and lightly until no flour shows.
Turn dough onto a floured surface
and knead 10 times. Cut dough in half and shape into a ball. Roll
into a round shape; cut into 8 wedges. Repeat with other half.
Place wedges on a cookie sheet and bake for 12 minutes.
