Date Nut Bread

Ingredients
1 large package of dates
1 1/2cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cups nuts

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, add dates and boiling water; let stand until dates have softened. Add all other ingredients to softened dates and liquid; beat until combined. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour or until tester comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
