Straw Twists
(makes
4 dozen)
Ingredients
2/3 grated
Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon paprika
1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, slightly beaten
Directions
Preheat
oven to 425 degrees.
Mix
cheese and paprika in a bowl. On a slightly floured surface,
roll 1 sheet of pastry into a 12x10 rectangle. Brush pastry
with egg. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of cheese mixture; press
cheese gently into pastry. Turn pastry over and repeat egg
and cheese. Fold the pastry in half lengthwise. Cut pastry
crosswise into 1/2 inch strips. Unfold strips and roll each
end in opposite directions to twist.
Place
strips on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment
paper. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat
process with remaining sheet of pastry.
